We breed Bouviers because we enjoy the characteristics of the breed, enjoy exhibiting and believe that, through research and careful scrutiny of health, temperament, and structural factors, we can help improve the breed. We believe every person undertaking the breeding of purebred dogs has the great responsibility to improve the breed, both in soundness and in health.

Screening for genetic health disorders is very important to us. All parents have genetic health certifications, all puppies are guaranteed and a written contract is provided. Some of our dogs pursue show or obedience titles, some do human therapy work, others are occupied with herding or other work. One is even a certified seizure alert dog! ALL of our puppies are raised "by hand", by us, in our bedroom and family room.

The Bouviers in our lines are generally Dutch and Canadian in ancestry. Most have already been successful in the show ring; the majority of dogs in our pedigrees are champions.

At the litter's birth, families waiting for their puppies receive a photo of the puppies and, since each puppy wears a different color ribbon, notes on who is who.puppy gym Later, what each personality is like. Ongoing puppy development is logged and puppies are challenged both physically - with agility/obstacle structures, and mentally - with lots of toys, playing and socialization. They received 24-hour, supervised care. When your family visits the puppies, you will observe and will be updated on activity and personality characteristics.

By the time they are ready to go to their new homes at about 8 weeks old, they have been wormed, had their first shots, tails docked, ears cropped (stitches already out), and are paper-trained so that housebreaking is quite simple to continue at home.

Bouviers are wonderful, gentle companions and guardians for children and families, but are instinctively fierce deterrents to intruders, ever loyal to those they love. They are intelligent and usually easy to train, but expect this "brightness" to make them stubborn and sometimes easily bored. Bouviers learn best and quickly with positive motivation, NEVER a harsh hand. Lots of love, kisses, and praise, and a positive obedience class experience.

Weekly combing is essential to a well-kept appearance, with professional grooming every 2-3 months. And don't be surprised if they follow you everywhere. They are after all a "herding" dog, and happiest when their "flock" (family) is in sight and safe.

We believe ALL Bouviers must be first and foremost good family members with trustworthy temperaments and good house manners Sitting in chair(even those deemed "show quality"). Each of our puppies is raised with these goals. We want our Bouviers to become sensible companions and even-tempered, bright, physically sound dogs who will love sharing your life as much as you will enjoy sharing their devotion.

A commitment that your puppy will truly be a part of the family, will have a safe environment, regular health care and lots of hugs is most important to us. Also, a personal reference (usually your veterinarian), is required.
